 Prize Money for Students 2023

In the year 2022-23, students from Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Category students studying in various courses are invited to apply online.

Social Welfare Department, Government of Karnataka has invited applications to provide incentives to Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Category students who have passed first class for the first time in the year 2021. Interested and eligible students can apply online by visiting the official website of the Government of Karnataka, sw.kar.nic.in.  And more information can be obtained.

 Last date to apply is February 28, 2023.  It has been suggested to apply for this date and the last date for applying will not be extended, the department said.  Only online applications are allowed.

How to apply for incentives?

•  Students can visit the official website sw.kar.nic.in online.
•  Click on the Post Matriculation/ Post Graduation Incentives link on the home page.
•  Then another page will open.
•  Click on the Online Application link on that page.  Another page will open.
•  Fill the required details on that page and submit.
•  Then upload the required documents.
•  Uploadable mark sheet, aadhaar card, bank pass book copy, photos.
•  Download and take print out of application.

If the name of the college is missing while submitting the online application, it is suggested to visit the concerned District Social Welfare Officer's office or the District Scheduled Category Welfare Officer's office to add the name of the college in the departmental website.

Course wise incentive details

• For Second PUC and Three Year Polytechnic Diploma students - Rs.20,000/-.
•  For graduate students - Rs.25,000/-.
•  Post Graduate Students – Rs.  30,000/-.
•  For Agriculture, Engineering, Veterinary, Medicine students - Rs.35,000/-.

The District Social Welfare Officers shall decide the percentage marks for the course after taking clarification from the concerned Vice Chancellor/ Registrar/ Principal and accordingly the applications shall be sanctioned or rejected.
