The final selection list of '1,209 Assistant Professor Posts' of Graduate Colleges has been published
The final recruitment list for 1,242 Assistant Professor posts (Post of Assistant Professor) of 26 teaching subjects vacant in Government First Grade Colleges has been published today.
Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) Executive Director S. Ramya said.
He has issued a press release about this on Saturday and said that 1,209 candidates have been selected in the final list. For remaining 33 posts suitable/eligible candidates are not available as per government norms and reservation rules. So these posts are left vacant. According to the rules, it is not allowed to give these to candidates of other categories.
The vacancies are Life Chemistry 1, Botany 1, Chemistry 6, Computer Science 3, Economics 4, Fashion Technology 1, Hindi 1, History 2, Mathematics 4, Microbiology 2, Physics 1, Political Science 2, Statics 1 and 4 posts in Urdu ( He has informed that there are a total of 33).
Candidates who have passed the NET/SLET exam in the examination conducted by KEA for these posts are considered. Those who have scored maximum marks will get the opportunity as per the roster criteria as per the government rules. There is no interview process involved. He said that the entire recruitment process was conducted transparently.
He explained that 522 candidates are from NET, 609 from SLET and 78 from Ph.D.
This recruitment process was launched on October 10, 2021 and online application was invited. Then the competitive exams were conducted in March 2022 and after checking the objections, the result was announced on 10th September 2022. After verification of the documents, the provisional selection list was published on January 30 this year. He explained that now the final selection list has been published.

Higher Education Minister Dr. CN Ashwathnarayana said that the efficiency of the Karnataka Examination Authority, which conducted the recruitment process of assistant professors in a very transparent and efficient manner, is commendable.
Recruitment of assistant professors in the state has not been done for many years. This is adversely affecting the teaching faculty. Considering this, the current government took the decision to conduct this recruitment. This entire process has been carried out without any hint of illegality. He opined that the student community will benefit from this.
