The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has decided to stop the circulation of Rs 2000 currency notes in India.  The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has also ordered the withdrawal of Rs 000 notes.  But the legal tender of these bank notes will continue.

RBI has issued a statement in this regard on Friday.  "In line with the Reserve Bank of India's 'Clean Note Policy', it has been decided to withdraw Rs 2000 notes from circulation. "We can deposit Rs 2000 bank notes into our accounts with all banks. We can deposit in the normal way i.e. without any restrictions, the way we always deposit cash into our accounts," an official RBI press release said.

Where and how to change 2000 rupee note?

 In a circular issued by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on May 19, 2023, it was mentioned, "The public will have an opportunity to deposit or exchange the Rs 2000 note till September 30, 2023."

How many notes can be exchanged at a time?

 Now people can exchange 2000 rupee bank notes in the branches of the bank where they have their account.  A person is allowed to exchange Rs 2000 bank notes up to a limit of Rs 20,000 at a time in all banks.

 This restriction has been implemented to reduce the inconvenience to the public, to create favorable conditions during operations and to avoid disruption to the regular activities of bank branches.  Business establishments can also exchange 2000 rupee notes.  Similarly notes can be changed according to exchange limit.

When will note change start, last date?

 We can start exchanging Rs 2000 notes from Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at our banks or branches.  "People can start the process of exchanging Rs 2,000 notes at banks or branches from Tuesday to give the banks and staff a chance to make all the preparations," the RBI said.
