The school education department has given permission to recruit 27,000 guest teachers against the vacant posts of teachers in primary schools before the commencement of schools in the state.
The academic year 2023-24 starts from May 29. In this context, the department commissioner has instructed the district deputy director and field education officers to appoint 13,352 graduate primary school teachers appointed for classes 6 to 8 on condition that they are appointed or until the end of the academic year.
The process of identifying and readjusting the posts of requirement/surplus teachers for the year 2022-23 has already been carried out as per rules at the district level. Based on this, it is suggested to select guest teachers wherever there are vacancies.
The district deputy director must compulsorily complete the redistribution of talukkuvar posts by May 26 to appoint guest teachers expeditiously on priority basis.
The selection of guest teachers should be done by the Headmaster of the school concerned. Vacant schools and teacherless schools in rural areas should be given first priority. 100% guest teachers should be recruited on priority in Karnataka Public Schools and Adarsh Vidyalayas. Selection should be based on merit considering minimum qualification. He instructed to submit the selected details to the department by June 10.
