No need to panic if you lose your PAN card. E-PAN card can be downloaded in few minutes that too sitting at home. Most financial institutions including banks accept e-PAN card. PAN Card is a 10 digit alphanumeric number issued by the Income Tax Department. On the other hand, e-PAN is a virtual PAN card that can be used for e-verification wherever needed. The e-PAN card will have a QR code which contains the basic information of the person. More security measures are followed in e-PAN cards.

How to get e-PAN card in 10 minutes?
One can apply for e-PAN card sitting at home. Income Tax Department has launched Online Instant PAN Card (EPAN) system. User should go to Income Tax Department portal (https://www.onlineservices.nsdl.com/paam/requestAndDownloadEPAN.html) and login. Mobile number and Aadhaar number should be entered. No separate documents are required for this. PAN can be availed on first come first served basis. Here the information contained in the Aadhaar card is considered as the basic information of the person.
Free service
The Income Tax Department has set up the Instant E-PAN system only for a fixed period of time. To get e-PAN card users have to scan their signature and provide it in JPEG format. This service is free and available only to individual tax payers. The process will be completed by sending the OTP to the registered mobile number.
